What is a Narcissistic Sociopath?
The term narcissistic sociopath is used to describe someone who manipulates and harms others for their own personal gain. People who have aspects of both narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and antisocial personality disorder (APD) could be considered narcissistic sociopaths.
While there is no official diagnosis of “narcissistic sociopath,” the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5) recognizes both NPD and APD. Narcissistic sociopaths are sometimes called sociopathic narcissists or sociopathic malignant narcissists. Narcissistic Sociopath: Signs, Treatments, and Ways to Cope (verywellmind.com)
My last thoughts were on NPD but NPD does not encompass everything that my family and I are being put through. This behavior and treatment we are receiving has additional elements. The individual not only feels like he is entitled and wants the attention, but he is malicious, manipulative, lacks empathy, lacks any regard for anyone’s safety or well being, and appears to derive pleasure from harming others. It seems that he actually enjoys people around him getting hurt physically and/or emotionally. To accomplish this, his lying and his poor behavior have been growing exponentially.
What can a person do when someone makes up so many lies and allegations that a government agency does not even know what to or not to believe? How do you stop someone who wants you to build a road on your property down to another portion of their property and is willing to accuse you of illegal dealings in order to manipulate a government agency to force you to build a road for this malicious person, on your own property? A road that you don’t even need or want? This is what we have been dealing with. When one agency says no, there is nothing going on, he starts with another one, or appeals the agency’s decision. We are on year six because we refuse to give up a portion of our property to someone who feels he is entitled to it and believes that we should spend our own money building something we do not even need or want.
I know, he is the victim right? We are the terrible people that earned the money to purchase the property he wants and we won’t give it to him. We pay for what we have and we pay our debts. His needs, wants, and desires are not our responsibility. We refuse to buy him a road or give him our property. I believe that just makes us normal, average, everyday Americans.
So how do you stop someone that is not like everyone else? Someone who does not have a career, family, or friends, when you have all of these things that keep you busy? How do you find enough time to stop someone who does nothing but focus on taking everything you have earned away from you, and harming you and your family? How do you stop someone who is determined to destroy your reputation in your community? How do you stop being his sole focus? How do you stop the obsession? I know, I have so many questions.
To make matters worse, even when he is losing one of his countless claims, he acts like he is winning. Then he doubles down with endless calls, hounding the agency and the person working there so badly that they just do whatever to get him to go away. How do you stop someone that is so mentally ill they cannot see what they are doing or that they are even ill? What do you do when even restraining orders don’t work? Are there services available for someone like this? Is this a Narcissistic Sociopath?
I know, I have so many questions… but no answers.
