How I realized I was dealing with a Narcissist by Michelle Biche

Narcissistic Personality Disorder (NPD) is a psychological disorder characterized by a persistent pattern of grandiosity, fantasies of unlimited power or importance, and the need for admiration or special treatment. Core cognitive, affective, interpersonal, and behavioral features include impulsivity, volatility, attention-seeking, low self-esteem, and unstable interpersonal relationships that result in a pervasive pattern of interpersonal difficulties, occupational problems, and significant psychosocial distress. A person with NPD cannot have another person around them that is perceived as doing better than them or achieving what they want to achieve, that is simply NOT allowed. The person with NPD must be the best, the most admired, and the most important. The person with NPD must then take control and have power over the person who he perceives as doing better than him, or having what he wants. He must destroy that other person and their reputation because he is, after all, the most important and the best, so no one can be allowed any success or happinees unless he grants it.

So, is it normal for a person to spend their entire existence and all their time taking photos and watching/making videos of me and my family? This has been going on for six years now. To date there are 16 cameras, some on 20 foot poles, looking into my lower back yard, my home, my upper backyard near my pool, my bedroom window, my front door, the front and back decks, and the bedroom windows of my new ADU. My tenants are not pleased and considering obtaining a restraining order.

He reports us to every agency under the sun claiming we are doing illegal things. Sometimes claiming it is happening now and other times claiming it happended 4 to 6 years ago. He then enlists other people in the community and convinces those people that there is something going on, either now or in the past that is not, and then enlists those same individuals to complain as well. Then those people admire the person with NPD and they tell him what a hero and a “true warrior” he is. Bam, the person with NPD gets his fix!

The agency investigates and finds their claims untrue, but the person with NPD simply cannot be wrong and lose all this attention, so he appeals everything over, and over, and over again. Why? Because he IS getting attention, special treatment, and admiration. He is getting fed! It does not matter what is and is not true, it is only about him feeling that he is important and has power over someone else.

So what can be done? I just read an article about the grey rock method. It is interesting. Grey rock method: What it is and how to use it effectively (medicalnewstoday.com)
